Indy Metro continues to strengthen their partnership with the village of Magdalena through a variety of ways:

Carlos Lopez Art School

Carlos Lopez and his wife Thelma started an Art School in Magdalena to bring painting and drawing to local students. The school features daily classes to teach students painting and incorporates lessons on Jesus and his love. Indy Metro currently sponsors several students that attend the school and tries to provide help for the various projects of Carlos and Thelma.

Baking School

In August of 2010 a baking school was started by Carlos and Thelma to teach local women about baking. Currently 10 students attend the school and Antionetta, a mother of two art school students, teaches the course. The course lasts for two years.  We will have the first Cooking School Graduation in October of 2012.

Local Families

Sustainability: local families have the ability to gain different opportunities that will help them provide for their family but also provide for others. Whether it’s a new chicken coop, lettuce garden, or selling arts and crafts, local families can bring sustainability to themselves and others.
