Piedmont Church

This past month, we had the privilege of having Piedmont Church here to serve with us. It is always such a blessing to have them here, and we are thankful not only for the work that they put in, but all of the prayer for the people of Guatemala and our staff.This trip, they did a lot of projects.

They were able to bless two families with homes. Those homes will be a safe place for those families to live for generations to come. The families that were chosen to be given a house where families that were in great need. The first family had land, but their house was too small and was not built well, so it was not safe for them to live in.

The second family, had a house and even worse conditions. After traveling down very steep hills, their home was tucked away on a very small plot of land. The way that their home was built and the location made it very susceptible to water damage. The inside of the old house was very musty and not a safe environment for the family.

The new house is built sturdy and will withstand the rain that Guatemala gets. Each home will make a huge impact in the lives of the families.After building each home, the team spent time worshiping God and praying over the houses and the families that will live there. The houses themselves are a great blessing, but more so the prayer that the families were covered in will be even more of a blessing. We saw tears and smiles as the houses were officially given to the families, and it will be moments that the team and the families never forget.

The team also went on many home visits. Home visit are always very impactful because it is a time for everyone to share. The people we visit are able to share the struggles that they are going through in the team is able to share about the faithfulness of God. They’re able to share about the times that they have gone through hardships as well and the ways that God has always shown up. It is a beautiful time where two different cultures can come together and encourage one another.Having teams join the work that happens at Love Guatemala is always so wonderful. it is an encouragement to have people come alongside the ministry.
