Annual Soccer Tournament

Each year, as we get close to the end of the school year, Love Guatemala hosts a soccer tournament with all of the students. The students and staff all make their own teams and get to play against each other. It is a great way to destress before the pressure of studying for the year's final exams hits.

There where quite a few teams this year, but we had a lot more teams on the women's side. All of the teams did a great job and did their best. The games were played on half the soccer field because the teams were a bit smaller than a normal team. Each team was made up of 9 players.

Something that we love about the tournament is watching the students work together for a competition. Some of the teams are based on classes, like the first year English or Bachillerato. Others are the ones who build their teams off of students that are not on any team. All of it shows how much they are capable of working together to accomplish their goals.

The staff teams also did very well. The men's staff team placed second and the woman's team got first place. We are proud of them for demonstrating hard work to the students!

Overall, it was a wonderful day and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to host such a great tournament!
